2025 Musical Theatre Program

Program Overview

​

In 2025, Denmark Dance Company is thrilled to launch its first-ever Musical Theatre Program.

 

This course concentrates on high-quality music, dancing, and acting classes that help prepare the students for an original musical experience. This one-of-a-kind musical theatre program elevates the performers to reach beyond their limits.

​

Open to anyone with an interest in musical theatre - no previous experience is required!

Program Details

​

Dates and Venues:

  • Term 1: Every Friday from 14th February to 4th July, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM at the Denmark Civic Centre

  • Term 2: Week 1 -7, Fridays from 2nd May to 4th July, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM (Venue TBC). 

  • Term 2 Week 8 Technical Rehearsal: Friday 20th June 6pm - 8pm

  • Term 2 Week 8 Production: Sunday 22nd June, Time To Be Confirmed

Duration:

A comprehensive training schedule across two terms:

  • Term 1: Dive into 9 weeks of dynamic rehearsals focusing on learning character roles, including acting, singing, and dancing.

  • Term 2: Continue with 7 weeks of rehearsals that build towards our main event. In Week 8, participants will engage in the final preparations with a technical rehearsal on Friday, 20th June from 6 PM to 8 PM, leading to the show on Sunday, 22nd June (time TBC).

Performance Schedule:

  • Technical Rehearsal: Friday, 20th June - 6pm - 8pm

  • Production/Show: Sunday, 22nd June - Time TBC

 

Commitment:

This program requires full participation for both terms to ensure continuity, as students are assigned character roles in Term 1 and to deepen the learning and performance experience.

  • Acting & Singing: Mayarn Little-Bell, DDC Head Teacher

  • Acting & Dance/Choreography: Jordine Raine, DDC Director

Fee Structure:

The Musical Theatre Program is designed to be financially transparent and accessible:

  • Class Fee: $17 per hour for 2-hour sessions across 18 weeks

  • Rehearsal Fee (Show Week): $75

  • Professional Video and Photo Fee: $50

  • Costume Hire Fee: $43

​

Total Program Cost: $780

​

Payment Plan: To make the program more accessible, the total cost will be spread over equal monthly payments, starting in February and concluding in July. Each monthly payment will be directly debited to ensure ease and convenience.

​

Monthly Payment Calculation: $780 / 5 months (Feb to June) = $156 per month 

​

Eligibility:

Open to participants aged 11 and above, with only 20 spots available. Priority will be given to those who enroll first.

​

Enrolment:

Secure your spot early to be part of this unique experience! Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Originally Created for the Musical Theatre Course at The American School in Switzerland, 2022.

Synopsis: In an eerie twist of fate, a group of students finds themselves in an empty classroom after missing their senior trip bus. With no recollection of why they are there or how they arrived, they stumble upon envelopes bearing their names. As they piece together the clues, they uncover the mystery of their lost memories and the profound reasons they were brought together.
